Last Minute Crafts

Well it's final, we will be moving back to Oregon soon! Daniel got a call & has the job at Willamette College in Salem Oregon to teach Economics! Sad to leave my friends but very excited to go back home with family again!

We had firefly frenzy at work, they said we could wear a regular shirt as long as we decorated it! This is what I came up with:

It's amazing what you can do with a little puff paint, a T-shirt, some hot glue & two strands of floral led lights! ;)

Just last weekend we had some surprise guests stop by for the night, Daniel's crazy fun cousins & some of their little ones! Before they left us in the morning I got out some sock puppet kits that I got from my work! Here are the pics:

(Aww, Daniel's helping make a butterfly)

(No, eyes do not go in the mouth! ;)

(I don't think she's played with a sock puppets before! Haha!)

(Ah, that's how you play with it!)

(Tori was having fun making the butterfly flap it's wings!)

(Ada decided that she wanted to color red on the teeth of here shark! Hahaha!)

This is what the invites look like for our farewell party:

 (I made them myself! ;)

FINALLY finished the skirt & vest!!!
I bought some brown suiting fabric with teal blue pin strips! It still needs some steampunk flare but I've got the basics done so it's wearable!

Also my best friend Jacqueline finished helping me fix my old prom dress to be more modest! (7yrs later & it still fits)

Halloween 2013

Halloween is by far still my favorite holiday! Its the day were I can go crazy with dressing up & decorating with creepy things & no one thinks I'm insane! (I do have some dark humor! ;)

The most fun this year was the food!
Jo-Ann's had some really festive fabric, so I made a tablecloth, napkins, & silverware rings!

Eyeballs are a classic!

Definitely don't think of me as a seamstress,
in order to get the skirt on the tablecloth I took short cuts
& cheated a bit

To put the skirt on the fabric I cut the top piece almost as big as the top of your table, I cut mine at least 3 inches from the edges. Then cut two length wise strips of the skirt fabric, enough to go around the table & whatever width you would like it to be. Make sure the fabric for the top of the table is on the table & is right side up. Fold under top edge of skirt fabric. Pin the skirt fabric (with right side up) to it starting the two fabric strips on the same corner (that way when you sew the corners they will be open enough to ease it in to curve over the edges).

I love these salt & pepper shakers!

Tea lights + candelabra + crystal ball = Amazing!

Dinner is served!

Poisonous Tentacle Snacker

Mummy Pizza

Fruit Salad-O-Lantern

Bread Bones

Mini pumpkin pies
Also had some "Bat Wings" that were really chicken wings with liquid smoke & other seasonings that made them black in color

Even found a fun decorating idea!

All you have to do is print out a silhouette of a bat, cut it out of black paper about 100 times & then tape them to the wall in wavy lines

Angel really likes pumpkins!

Daniel carved this one:

This one is my carving of "Starry Night" by Van Gogh

The classic graveyard w/glowing eyes in the bushes is a must

From the scraps of the tablecloth I made a headband to wear to work

Of course I had to decorate myself for work (there is always a loop hole)

If you can't see it, it says BOO on my eyelid

A friend from work made me this shirt!
(the letters & moon glow in the dark)

Here are my party guests for Halloween night!

Angel loves pumpkins so much that she decided to be one!

I have soo many pairs of Halloween earrings

My husband refuses to wear elaborate costumes like me,
so I made him the fire cane from "House"

The dress I wore for my costume was meant for a friends wedding that was cancelled
so I decided to use it for Halloween!

Evil Cupid

The mini pies are really easy to make if you have a mini muffin pan
I even gave some out as gifts

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
