More Styles of Art

Well it's about that time to update what I've done this week. Keep in mind though some of this week I was sick (thanks to my husband) so I didn't do allot this week.

Signature Stamp:

First I molded the handle to my hand.

Drew the symbols on with a sharp pencil.

Cut the symbols out with a razor knife.
(Also ended up cutting the droplet of the "u" of "Mu" to make the "u" more visible.)

Inked it with black paint

After baking the clay it doesn't stamp the whole signature well so I'll have to make it out of some other material or try something different completely.

Gear Necklace:

(I've seen these in stores & refused to buy one because I knew it would be simple to make as long as I found the right kind of watch clock.)

Old Bookmark:
(Not sure if that is what this is suppose to be, I found it in our yard & decided to decorate it.)

(I think I'll read a book just so I can use this thing!)

(Starting to work with fimo polymer clay again)
(I have made many things from this bakeable clay but sadly I did not take pictures of them when I had them, they have either been given away or broken.)

Tamago Earrings:
(Since I'm just getting back into the swing of this clay I've decided to start with something very simple to get the feel of it. Soon I will be making more intricate works of art.)

Starting to unpack all my art supplies & set up in my art studio!

(Some of my favorite things!)

The whale in the front is the very first little glass animal I have ever received. I believe I was 5 or 6 when a man at a beading store found out from my Mom that it was going to be my birthday, he then proceeded to put small glass whales & swans in a bag & told my Mom to give it to me for my birthday. It was a very rememberable sweet act of kindness that I will never forget.

More glass animals...

And even more...

Ok, does anyone else remember the movie "Where The Toys Come From" from 1984? Well the windup toy you see with the glasses is Peepers from that movie. As a child I would always watch this movie whenever I was home sick.

And then a few more but their insects. My Grandma Despain gave me that little sleeping ladybug, I love ladybugs & sunflowers!

Some of the small shells that I have found, I have more but have yet to discover them in the mass of art stuff, along with them is a Lego Captain Jack Sparrow that my sister gave to me!

This is my desk some what put together, since the walls are all cinder blocks I ducked taped my lamp along with my magnetic tool holder to the wall. Got to love ducked tape! ;)

I have realized that I forgot two other elements of art that I have not put on my blog yet. One is photography, that will have to wait due to the massive amounts of pictures that I have, & two cakes!

So here are the cakes that I have made & decorated:

Cakes

(This is just frosting that I took of a piece of cake & had fun with, not a fan of frosting.)
(It's a log cabin with a meadow, trees, a river with a canoe, & a duck!)

Cake for my cousin's 16th birthday:

This is Jerry my boss when I worked at Subway, he was very sweet & let me use the metal tables there to make the cake. I'm lucky that he didn't make me let him eat the cake for payment. ;)

The circle cutters I got from my Mom really helped this go allot faster.

(Wanted to make the bottom look nice with out putting allot of work into it, I only had so much time.)

The leaves & the flower petals are made from chocolate.

I used melted chocolate & cut baggy to make the roots for the flower.

Used ribbon to separate the levels & made the bow with the button on as a finishing touch.

I can't remember if this cake was for my Dad or my uncle?
Both my Dad & uncle along with me are fans of M*A*S*H!

I used brown sugar to make the sand traps, fondant as the green around the hole, sprinkle for the colored flowers, & frosting for the rest.

Benjamin Franklin Pierce, AKA Hawkeye

B.J. Hunnicutt AKA BJ

It's obvious what is not made from fondant or frosting ;) but did you know that the golf ball is made from fondant?!

My 21st Birthday Cake

Yes I made my own birthday cake, it was my last hurrah for birthdays so I really wanted something great but didn't want my parents to spend more than they already had on my party. Which by the way it was a masquerade ball & is my favorite birthday ever, other than being born that is. ;)

That is all I have for you for now, hopefully I'll have even more projects done next week! Thank you for taking the time to look through this blog!
