Getting Ready for Halloween

I know I know, it's early for Halloween but it's my favorite holiday!!! It's the only time I can dress the way I really want to & people don't look at me like I'm crazy! Sure I could wait & spend money on decorations that are alright OR I could take time & make my own decorations that I really like! Fall is also a great season, it's sunny but cool & leaves change colors to give the world one last hurrah before they return back to the earth. Also something I did this week is reupholster my art chair, when my home town flooded the dentist office replaced all it's chairs so they let me have this one. After my interview at Jo-Ann Fabrics (I got the job by the way, yay!) I walked around & found the fabric that was perfect for the chair, only three dollars. ;)
Before:
 After:
(Daniel helped allot, I didn't feel safe enough to use a staple gun ;)

So the duct tape didn't quite do the job, sad. But it seems that hot glue does great!

(The light was glaring to much so I poked a hole in the side of the lamp & slid it on which seemed to do the trick.)

The reason this picture is on here is because it was my first time making cinnamon rolls so I decided for fun to make one giant one! It was a success! ;)

Halloween Decorations:

First step was to cut the ball in half, carve the bats faces, & stick them on wires.

(I thought four bats would be plenty.)

Second step: I cut some fabric into bat wings, also cut a small rectangle for the body.

Third step: Cut some wire for the bones of the wings.

Fourth step: Painted heads black & used clay that glows in black light as eyes.

Fifth step: Hot glued wires onto wings & the head, also folded the rectangle into a cylinder & glued on.

Fifth step: (Hot glue already glows in black light) Used highlighter to outline face & body.

Sixth step: Glued fishing line to the back & voila!

Spiders:
(These things had to many small steps & hard to take pictures of.)

Basically how I made is:
Made two balls of clay (one big, one small) & stick together.
Cut out shapes on body & put other colors in.
Cut some fangs & a mouth from the head.
Made four small balls & attached to head for eyes.
Cut four pairs of two out of wire at different lengths & stuck into head, bent at random intervals.
Bake & enjoy these creepy crawlies!

(Under black light)

Soon I will be making even more Halloween decorations! (Cheap, easy, & awesome! (; ) Also the next few months I'll be making things which will be gifts to my family for Christmas, with these art projects I will not be showing them in their complete forms until Christmas is over that way they can't peek. ;D
